A service tailored to you

An old-fashioned head measurement tool used to measure for bespoke hats. It looks like a black top hat with lots of mechanical parts and levers.

Measurements

We begin by taking two measurements. One using a tape measure for the circumference of your head and the other using a conformateur to give us the shape of your head.

The latter measurements are then sent to our block maker who produces a last which is used to ensure an exact fit. Once we have perfected the fit, the last can then be kept to help store and maintain the shape of your bespoke piece.

Choosing the felt

Once we have taken your measurements, customisation begins. Select your felt colour, composition (Wool, Rabbit or Beaver) and weight (Dress or Western).

Next is the crown style and height, followed by the brim style and width. Our Bespoke service includes multiple fittings to find what really works for you. It is now that we also ensure the pinch of your hat is aligned with your nose.

Finishing touches

Lastly we embellish your hat. Elements include distressing, stitching, covering, accessories, ribbons, the possibilities are endless. This stage enables you to get creative and create a piece truly unique and tailored to you.

Your hat is then lined and initialled before a final fitting which gives us the opportunity to make any necessary adjustments and finishing touches.
